CHENNAI: Southwest monsoon has been active over Kerala and coastal Karnataka.

Rainfall occurred at most places over coastal Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh and interior Karnataka. Isolated rainfall occurred over Tamil Nadu, Rayalaseema and Telangana.

The following stations recorded very heave to heavy rainfall in centimetres: Mudibidre (Udupi dt.) 14, Udupi 13, Mangalore Airport and Kozhikode 11 each, Cherthala (Alapuzha dt.) 10, Valparai, Panambur, Karkala (Udupi dt.), CIAL Kochi and Irikkur (Kannanur dt.) 9 each, Honavar, Perinthalmanna (Malapuram dt.) and Kottayam 8 each and Kannanur, Aluva (Ernakulam dt.) and Thodupuzha (Idukki dt.) 7 each.

WEATHER FORECAST (valid until Tuesday morning): Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places over coastal Karnataka, at many places over interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep and at a few places over coastal Andhra Pradesh. Isolated rain or thundershowers are likely to occur over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry, Rayalaseema and Telangana.

HEAVY RAINFALL WARNING: Heavy rain at a few places with isolated very heavy rain is likely to occur over coastal Karnataka during next 48 hours. Isolated heavy rain is also likely to occur over south interior Karnataka and Kerala during the same period.

Farmers Weather Bulletin for Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry (Forecast valid until the morning of 27th June 2006): Isolated light to moderate rain is likely to occur over Tamil Nadu and Pondicherry.

Outlook for Subsequent Two Days: No Significant change.
