Suresh wins title

MANNARGUDI: K. Suresh of Subash Chandra Bose Matriculation School, Mannargudi, with four points won the title in the district-level chess tournament at Melathirupalakudi on Sunday.

In the girls' section, Srinidhi Sridharan of Ashoka Matriculation School, Mannargudi, with three points, clinched the top honour.

The results: Boys: 1. K. Suresh (4 points), 2. J. Arvind (4), 3. K. Rajesh (4); Open: 1. G. Irulappan (4.5), 2. A. Jakir Hussian (4.5), 3. R.P. Senthil Kumaran (4).
