QUESTIONING TIME: Women making a point to APCC president K. Keshava Rao during campaign at Theegalaguttapalli village in Karimnagar mandal on Sunday.
KARIMNAGAR: Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee president K. Keshava Rao and Minister for Sports M. Satyanarayana Rao had to face some embarrassing moments during their election meeting at Theegalaguttapalli village of Karimnagar mandal on Sunday. When the APCC president along with the Minister reached the village to take part in campaign, party ZPTC candidate N. Padma was not present at the venue. Without waiting for the candidate, the APCC president addressed the gathering and when he was about to complete his speech, a section of women in the crowd began grilling the leader on issues like housing, drinking water and electricity. Listing their woes, the womenfolk demanded sanction of houses immediately.
Woman's complaint
When a woman complained that she received a power bill of Rs. 12,800 for three months, the APCC president assured her of examining into the issue and left the village for Choppadandi and other villages for campaign. The Minister for sports, in whose constituency the election meeting was held, felt disappointed over the development and abruptly ended his campaign. The Minister had remained indoors in his house for hours together and did not allow any leader to meet him. According to party sources, the minister was angry over the absence of party candidate at the meeting.
