Tamil Nadu starts with a win

CHENNAI: Host Tamil Nadu defeated West Bengal 23-9 in the junior girls' handball championship at the Nehru Indoor Stadium here on Sunday. Saly Chaco (9) and Hema (8) were the top-scorers for TN while Mun Mun Ray (6) scored for West Bengal. In another match, Chandigarh beat Assam 14-12. Nirmala with 10 goals delivered for Chandigarh and Juli (8) scored for the loser.
