GUNTUR: The Nagarampalem police arrested five persons residing at Srinivasraopet in the city on Sunday for their alleged involvement in the murder of an elderly woman, Vallabhaneni Buchamma, who was reported missing from June 6. According to Deputy Superintendent of Police M. Ravindranath Babu, three of the accused were grandsons of the 65-year-old victim while the other two were close family relatives. The five hatched a plan to eliminate Buchamma, as the youngsters were not getting good marriage proposals due the alleged illegal activities of Buchamma and her daughters. The five, along with the victim, had gone to Manchikallu village in Rentachintala mandal of Guntur district regarding the marriage proposal of one of the accused.
