TIRUCHI: The Tiruchi Regional Engineering College - Science and Technology Entrepreneurs Park (TREC-STEP), will organise an `EU-India Conference on Incubating New Exciting Technology Ventures (NEXT)', here from June 27 to 29, to promote cross cultural global ventures. The TREC-STEP has entered into a partnership with United Kingdom Business Incubation (UKBI), German Technology Business Incubators Association (ADT) and Swedish Incubators and Science Parks (SiSP) for organising the conference to provide access to new technologies, markets, capabilities and resources for budding entrepreneurial ventures in EU and India. By virtue of the partnership, Indian start-ups and high growth companies can access Indian and European Business Incubators' Venture Escorting Development Support, according to R. M. P. Jawahar, Executive Director, TREC-STEP. Titled `Business incubators network development platform for knowledge sharing and business incubation partnerships between EU and India', the conference is a part of a comprehensive project financially supported by the European Commission's EU-India Small Projects Facility Programme and by the Department of Science and Technology, Government of India. The EU and Department of Science and Technology have contributed Rs. 84 lakh and Rs. 44 lakh respectively for implementation of the initiative - EU-India Small Projects Facility Programme in Economic Co-operation - to support the on-going transformation and modernisation of Indian economy and systems of governance to enhance interaction of European and Indian civil societies. Besides Indian business incubator managers and entrepreneurs, there will also be participants from other countries, including UK, Sweden, Germany, France, Mauritius and Nepal.
