Congress to protest against law and order situation in U.P.

LUCKNOW: The Congress Party on Sunday decided to stage a state-wide dharna on July five to protest the alleged deteriorating law and order situation and shortage of power and drinking water in Uttar Pradesh.

A meeting of the State party office bearers was held at the party headquarters here to formulate strategy to make the sit-in successful, UPCC spokesman Vijay Saxena said here today in a statement.

UPCC president Salman Khursheed would lead the dharna in Lucknow.

A memorandum would also be submitted to State Governor T V Rajeswar listing the failures of the Mulayam Singh Yadav Government in the State, Mr. Saxena said. - PTI
