It also proposes to set up a multispeciality hospital at Nandanam. The Rs. 5-crore project is awaiting government approval, said Vice-Chancellor N. Balaraman on Sunday. "The aim is to develop the university as the hub [of research] in the SAARC region and ensure that students from these countries come here and learn from us," he said. From next year, five final year B.VSc. students would visit Michigan State University, U.S., for 45 days as part of internship. The university recently signed a memorandum of understanding with the American university for teacher and student exchange programmes. The first batch of American students finished their month-long training on Sunday. The five-day international seminar on `Advanced veterinary practice in Medicine and Surgery' concluded on Sunday.
