JAMMU:
Five top militants of the Hizbul Mujahideen and the Harkat-ul-Jehadi Islami on Sunday surrendered before the Army in Doda district of Jammu and Kashmir.
Col. D.K. Badola, head, media cell, termed the surrender as a major setback to the outfits. The militants were identified as Bashir Ahmed alias Ismail, Mohammad Shafi alias Omar, Mohmmad Rafeeq alias Sukan and Javed Ahmed alias Zahid. They handed over three AK rifles, nine magazines, 260 rounds, one UBGL launcher, 5 UBGL grenades and 2 Chinese grenades.
