Representation needed for Tuluvas Sir, Tulu is a tribal dialect largely used by Dalits and backward classes who are being marginalised owing to the impact of globalisation. Successive governments have neglected the Tulu-speaking regions. Tuluvas should be represented in development projects. Jagadeesh, Surathkal Enforce helmet rule Sir, The issue of enforcing the helmet rule for two-wheeler riders has been lingering for the past 25 years. Successive governments have implemented and then withdrawn the rule, and it has become a farce. This Government has made it mandatory for pillion riders to wear helmets. However, this is complicated and may not be feasible. The rule should first be enforced for riders. Since many accidents occur owing to the poor condition of roads, a person wearing a helmet should be compensated by the Government if he is injured in an accident. J.F. D'Souza, Mangalore Road requires re-laying Sir, The condition of Kamraj Road beyond Commercial Street crossing up to Veera Pillai Street is dotted with pot holes. This busy stretch often gets inundated during a downpour adding to the misery of commuters. The traffic on this road has increased after St. John's Road has been made one-way beyond Shivan Chetty Garden post office. The road requires re-surfacing. M.M. Gurbaxani, Bangalore Postal service needed Sir, Bharatnagar Layout has been developed by the Bharat Electronics Employees' Cooperative House Building Society Ltd. However, it lacks postal services. I request the authorities concerned to consider opening a post office at Bharatnagar since the closest post office is 3 km away at Sunkadakatte. It would be helpful if the postal authorities install at least two post boxes in the area. K. Babu Rao Bangalore Readers can also email their letters to letters.mangalore@ thehindu.co.in
