HYDERABAD: Burglars broke into three houses on the outskirts of the city on Saturday night and fled with gold and silver ornaments. The offenders broke into the houses by breaking open the door locks and stole the jewellery. The thefts came to light on Sunday morning. Gold ornaments weighing three-and-a-half tolas and Rs. 6,000 in cash was stolen from the house of Srinivas Rao, an employee of the Board of Secondary Education at Hayathnagar. Mr. Rao and his family had gone to Tuni near Visakhapatnam when the theft was committed. They returned on Sunday morning only to find that their house was burgled. Thieves struck at a house at Neredmet and fled with seven tolas of gold and silver idols. Balakrishna and his family were away from the house. Burglars broke into the house of D. Prabhakar at Bhavani Colony in Rajendranagar and escaped with the gold.
