HYDERABAD: The act may be cold and calculated, yet appeared like a forceful bid to project their compassionate side. Dacoits who struck at a house in Madhuranagar on Sunday actually expressed their `deep anguish' to the family members while escaping with the booty. "We know it is your hard earned money. But we have no option. We have a lot of problems in our lives not to forget the problems involved in robbing a house successfully!" the dacoits told the astounded house owner R. Rajesh and his family members while leaving the house. The gang members shared their `experiences' with the family as to how the police would `treat' them once they were caught and how difficult it was to be dacoits. Such was their audacity that they spent three full hours in the house and like long lost relatives even demanded some hospitality too from the hapless household. Aged between 30 and 35, they asked if there was liquor at home. They even had a shower before leaving the house! Though they beat up Rajesh's 52-year-old mother Samrajyam, but did not physically harm Rajesh and his wife Pavani.
Planned operation
"It appears that all the dacoits were chain smokers as several cigarette butts were found in the house," a police official said under conditions of anonymity. Meanwhile, the police are trying to collect some pictures of the dacoits with the help of visuals captured on the CCTV cameras that were installed atop the house of a realtor Ramakotaiah in the same locality. "We suspect the dacoits might have first scouted the house, particularly the rear side, and struck according to their plan," the official said. The offenders also disconnected the telephone line and even snatched Rajesh's mobile phone. They threatened the family with dire consequences if they informed the matter to the police. Special teams have been formed to nab them.
