THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Chitrakalamandalam has invited applications from school and college students for participating in the classes for painting and drawing that will be conducted every Saturday and Sunday. The classes will be led by over 15 artists of repute who are experts in various media of painting. The Chitrakalamandalam will provide, free of cost, the material required for drawing. THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Civil Supplies Minister C. Divakaran has expressed grief over the death of communist leader V. Thankaiah. A press note here on Sunday said the death of Thankaiah, who worked for the cause of the downtrodden in southern Travancore, is a big loss for society. - Staff Reporter

FRAT awards

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Federation of Residents' Associations of Thiruvananthapuram (FRAT) has decided to give awards to the children of members who have secured high marks in this year's SSLC examinations. The attested copies of the mark list should reach the FRAT office bearers, through the residents association concerned, before June 30. Separate awards will be given for those who wrote the examination in the SSLC, CBSE and ICSE streams. - Staff Reporter
