Noise pollution in residential areas Sir, Of late, big companies are shifting their offices to quiet residential areas. Recently, a company opened its office in a building on Ashoka Pillar Road, I Block, Jayanagar. The air-conditioning unit of the company emanates noise from morning till late in the evening. This is disturbing the tranquility of the area. Repeated requests and letters have failed to make an impression on the authorities concerned. Even the Banagalore Mahanagara Palike, which has been informed about this, has not taken action. It is time the company is asked to reduce the noise produced by its unit.
D.B.N. Murthy, Bangalore Poor condition of roads Sir, The roads in Ramachandrapura, Dodda Channappa Layout (the main road and the sub-crosses) are in poor condition. Personnel of the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board had dug up the roads to lay pipes to supply Cauvery water some months ago. However, the work was discontinued and Cauvery water is not being supplied. The roads have not been cleared and people are finding it difficult to walk on this stretch, particularly during the rainy season. The authorities concerned should look into this problem immediately. S. Raja Reddy Bangalore Road requires re-laying Sir, The condition of Kamaraj Road beyond Commercial Street crossing up to Veera Pillai Street is dotted with pot holes. This busy stretch often gets inundated during a downpour adding to the misery of commuters. The traffic on this road has increased after St. John's Road was made one-way beyond Sivan Chetty Garden post office. The condition of this road is so bad that it requires re-laying. M.M. Gurbaxani, Bangalore Postal service needed Sir, Bharatnagar Layout has been developed by the Bharat Electronics Employees' Cooperative House Building Society Ltd. The layout, formed nearly 12 years ago, is located near Sunkadakatte close to the East West Group of Educational Institutions and CII-Quality Institute. However, it lacks postal services. I request the authorities concerned to consider opening a post office at Bharatnagar since the closest post office is 3 km away at Sunkadakatte. It would be helpful if the postal authorities install at least two post boxes in the area. K. Babu Rao Bangalore Irregular bus service Sir, The bus service to Ayyapanagar on route no 300F of Depot 24, is not regular. Several complaints to the authorities concerned have gone unheeded. Many office-goers and schoolchildren going to Cox Town, ITC area and Banaswadi depend on this bus. I urge the authorities concerned to ensure that the service is regular on this route.
