Narayan Rane's son booked for rash driving

MUMBAI: Nitesh Rane, son of State Revenue Minister Narayan Rane, was arrested for negligent driving after his car hit a police constable on Sunday night in the western suburb of Khar. He was later released on bail for a personal bond of Rs. 3,000.

At 9:20 p.m. police constable Mahadev Jadhav was hit by the car and injured his toe, said a police official. He was treated at the nearby Bhabha hospital. Nitesh Rane, 24, has been booked under section 279 (Rash driving or riding on a public way) and 337 (Causing hurt by act endangering life or personal safety of others) of the Indian Penal Code.
