Bringing together IT firms, tech schools

`Continuum-2006' will be held in Bangalore on June 28 and 29


  • The programme is being organised by Campus-Connect, a division of CareerNet Consulting
  • Faculty from over 50 engineering institutes will participate
  • It will lead to better inter-corporate collaboration with the academia

    Bangalore: "Continuum-2006" is an event of Campus-Connect that will bring together top-notch Information Technology companies and technologyl schools of the country on a single platform.

    It will be held in Bangalore on June 28 and 29.

    Faculty from over 50 engineering institutes, including all the seven IITs, NITs, BITS Pilani, IT BHU, and Technology and Human Resource heads of IT companies will hold discussions.

    "It will lead to better inter-corporate collaboration with the academia in the areas of campus talent benchmarking, finishing schools for students, faculty training programmes and large-scale campus awareness initiatives," Rishi Das, co-founder and CEO, Campus Connect, said here on Monday.

    "I attended last year's `Continuum.' It provided a good platform for colleges and the industry to interact on topics of mutual interest," Prof. N.S. Narahari, Director of Placement and Training, R.V. College of Engineering said.

    Campus-Connect is a division of CareerNet Consulting, which is a consulting group working in the field of industry-academia interaction. It provides solutions to develop a strong presence for corporate houses in leading technology schools. The service includes university programmes, sponsored programmes, campus branding, setting up of labs, instituting corporate scholarships, managing relationships, internships and campus recruitments.

    Campus recruitment

    Campus-Connect organises Siquest and PeP, which are standardised tests aimed at simplifying the campus recruitment process of final year engineering students.

    These are objective-type tests held in 80 colleges across the country to evaluate aptitude and technical skills in computer science and electronics. Candidates are short-listed by companies based on their score.
