A NEW CHAPTER: A file picture of Brandon Routh as Superman in the film "Superman Returns."
NEW DELHI: It is a battle that he has never had to fight before. While he still remains a favourite super hero, Superman will have to contend with a hero rather than a villain this time round. With "Krrish", the first Indian hero to don a cape, already a winner at the box office by all accounts, the man in blue and red will have to make a better impression to get audiences to watch him save people this coming Friday. Returning to the big screen after a gap of 20 years, he will be saving people for a whole new audience. And making a comeback in "Superman Returns'', it might be too early to decide whether he is an improved version or not, but he will be bigger than he ever was. "The movie will be released in 35 mm format and in IMAX format, so Delhi audiences will get to choose in which form they want to see him in,'' says a spokesman from Spice, a public relations firm representing IMAX. Apart from being in the super format, the movie will also be released in different Indian languages. Directed by Bryan Singer, the film stars newcomer Brandon Routh as the super hero. It also has Kate Bosworth, James Marsden, Frank Langella and Oscar-winner Kevin Spacey. Dubbed in Hindi, Tamil and Telegu, the film hopes to capture the imagination of many more Indians watching it.
