Chennai: The Indian hockey team, which won a bronze medal in the eight-nation Sultan Azlan Shah hockey tournament on Sunday, was accorded a warm welcome by the officials of the Tamil Nadu Hockey Association at the Anna International airport on arrival from Kuala Lumpur on Monday morning. Dilip Tirkey, the captain of the team, expressed satisfaction over the performance, which won for the team a third spot after a gap of six years. He also viewed the outcome as a means to uplift the confidence levels of the players. Chief coach V. Baskaran was happy that the target of achieving a podium finish was accomplished, but conceded that a lot more was required to be addressed before the World Cup at Monchengladbach. The players dispersed in the afternoon to their hometowns. Special Correspondent
