Dr. Chakravarthy dead

Dr. Chakravarthy

CHENNAI: R. Chakravarthy, senior general surgeon practising in Chennai died on Monday. He was 71. He is survived by his wife, a son and daughter.

Dr. Chakravarthy, who has been a consultant with the Apollo Hospitals, Chennai, for about two decades, was senior consultant surgeon, department of General Surgery and Gastroenterology. He had also served on The Hindu's panel of doctors.

According to family members, Dr.Chakravarthy took ill on Sunday. The funeral will be held on Tuesday.
