CHANDIGARH: The Haryana Governor, A. R. Kidwai, on Monday launched the first Internet model of Hansdehar village in Jind district. It becomes the first village in the country to have its own website. Dr. Kidwai appreciated the efforts of NGOs in compilation of data which would help officers and the Government in formulating plans for all-round development of the area. He said that with this data the officers would also be acquainted with the problems of that village. As Haryana was emerging as a Model State with speedy industrialisation and highest per capita income, this data would further help in boosting the development process of the Government. Giving details about the Smart villages programme, Archana Bindusar, president of samanvay.com, said that various areas were targeted under such interfaces. She said villages would be analysed on various socio-economic parameters at micro and macro level besides improving the literacy of the villages by reducing the drop out rate. Efforts would also be made to maximise the employment potential by providing the profiles of rural youth to the potential employers in India and abroad. Haryana Chief Minister Bhupinder Singh Hooda and Education Minister Phool Chand Mullana were also present at the ceremony.
