Notice to Salman for `misleading' court

JAIPUR: A Jodhpur court on Monday issued a show-cause notice to Bollywood star Salman Khan for allegedly misleading it while making a statement on oath regarding the license of his weapon in connection with the poaching cases against him.

Judicial Magistrate Dalpat Singh Rajpurohit, hearing the case of illegal possession of weapons by the actor, directed him to file a reply on July 10.

The directive came after the prosecution told the court that Salman had earlier stated before it that his firearms license was ``misplaced'' whereas it was lying with the Mumbai police.

The court has also allowed the prosecution plea filed on June 19 for placing 26 new documents on record against the actor relating to the Arms Act. These were taken on record on Monday, Hastimal Saraswat, Khan's counsel, told PTI.
