NEW DELHI: The CBI has filed the chargesheet against eight persons accused in a case of fraudulent regularisation of MCD employees with the help of forged documents. The chargesheet filed in the Special Court under sections 120-B (Criminal Conspiracy), 420 (Cheating), 467 (Forgery of Documents) and 468 (Cheating by Forgery) of the IPC, names Jeet Ram, Kunta Devi, Nirmala, Saroj, Sharda Devi, Maya Devi, Satish and Vijender as accused in a case involving use of illegal means in regularization of employment of casual safai karamcharis (sanitation workers) in MCD. According to the chargesheet, the CSE (HQ), the sanitation engineering department of MCD (Municipal Corporation of Delhi) had taken a policy decision to regualrise the substitute daily wages safai karamcharis engaged from April 1, 1988 to March 31, 1990 with effect from April 1. 1995. Accused R K Lakhra (not included in the present chargesheet) and Jeet Ram in connivance with the others allegedly got prepared a false regularisation order purportedly issued by the sanitation department in favour of the other seven accused, falsely showing them as working since 1988. Investigations revealed that they had never worked in the CSE West Zone during the period 1987-2001 and had stated their dates of birth different from those recorded in their service books apart from forging the Administrative officer's signatures on the regularization request letter, the chargesheet says.- PTI
