MAHABUBNAGAR: Rebel trouble is haunting both the Congress and the Telugu Desam Party. The district Congress leaders are making all efforts to get the rebels out from the fray while the TDP has undertaken an exercise to suspending such candidates from the party. The campaign picked up in the district after amavasya on Sunday. As many as 2,755 candidates are in the race for 926 MPTC seats. In all, 264 candidates are in the race for the 64 ZPTC seats in the district. The ruling party is facing rebel trouble in at least half-a-dozen ZPTCs and the TDP in four ZPTC seats. As part of the seat-sharing agreement the Congress allocated two ZPTC seats to the TRS and one to the CPI. The TRS was allotted Jadcherla and Hanwada seats and the CPI Bijinapally seat. The TDP allocated Pangal ZPTC seat to its ally, the CPI(M).
TRS candidates
The Congress is facing trouble from the TRS candidates in Kalwakurthy, Telkapally and Bijinapally and from its rebels at Bhootpur and Atmakur ZPTC seats while the TDP, which gave the Pangal ZPTC seat to CPI(M) was facing trouble from its ally in at Damaragidda ZPTC. The party is in trouble at Hanwada where sitting MPP Venkanna after trying in vain to get a party ticket decided to contest an independent.
Suspended
Venkanna was suspended from the party. Similarly, at Dhanwada ZPTC seat TDP leader Neerati Narsimloo Yadav entered the arena as BC United Front candidate, causing problems to the official TDP candidate.
