Spat between cable operator and Zee Turner

Staff Correspondent

MANGALORE: Zee Turner Ltd., the distribution wing of Zee Telefilms Ltd. and Turner International (I) Private Ltd., on Monday switched off its bouquet of 26 channels to the OCN Network here reportedly owing to non-payment of its outstanding to Zee Turner Ltd. and its failure to sign a fresh agreement after expiry of the earlier one. Zee Turner Ltd. has been in negotiations with OCN for the network for the past eight months.

A press release from Pawandeep Kaur, corporate communications of Zee Turner Ltd., said the company had urged OCN to sign a fresh subscription agreement to declare its accurate subscriber base as it was found that the network was serving many more subscribers than it mentioned.

However, the network failed to do so, the release said.

While rest of the city on CCC and ICN's network continues to receive the channels of Zee Turner Ltd., nearly 50,000 subscribers of OCN Network are deprived of the channels including CNN, HBO and Cartoon Network, the release added.
