20 hostel inmates taken ill

VISAKHAPATNAM: Twenty boys of the BC Residential Hostel at Nakkapalli, about 100 km from here, were treated at the local Government Hospital for suspected food poisoning on Monday.

According to reports reaching here, about 80 boys of the hostel started vomiting after one of them raised an alarm that a lizard had fallen into the food they were being served.

Twenty of them were shifted to the hospital where they were immediately treated and discharged except one who was sent to the Tuni Government Hospital. He was also declared safe.

Power shutdown

Power supply to the following areas will be discontinued on Tuesday in view of the Ratha Yatra of Lord Jagannadhaswamy: Kotha Road, Janata Bazaar, Prasad Gardens, Poorna Market, Velampeta, AVN College down, Relliveedhi, Rangireejuveedhi, Jabbarithota and Pandaveedhi from 3.30 p.m. to 5 p.m. and Poorna Market, Spring Road, Main Road, Salipeta, Thadiveedhi, Kallupaakalu and a part of Suryabagh from 4.30 p.m. to 5.30 p.m.
