Seven held on murder charge

Staff Reporter

HYDERABAD : The killing of a cycle shop owner Afsar Khan near his house at Feelkhana was a fallout of a murder involving his close relative Ahmed, the Asifnagar police said on Monday.

Ahmed had allegedly beaten an auto-rickshaw driver Wajid of Feroz Gandhi Nagar to death in Feelkhana following a dispute on June 13. The victim's elder brother Mohd. Khaiser, a realtor, since then reportedly bore a grudge against Ahmed.

The realtor also suspected that Khan aided and abetted Ahmed in the murder of his brother. Five days ago, Khaiser and seven of his associates hacked Afsar Khan to death near his house at Feelkhana when he came out to purchase milk in the morning.

Asifnagar ACP V. Mahender Reddy said police picked up Khaiser and his associates from their houses on Monday. All the arrested confessed to the murder, he claimed. Meanwhile, Ahmed is still at large.
