Power shutdown in some areas

Power supply will be affected on Tuesday from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. in

Kudlu village, Rayasandra, Choodasandra, Haralur, Somasundarapalya, Royal Placid, Shivajyothi Layout, Ashoka Industries, Aishwarya apartments and surrounding areas, according to the Bangalore Electricity Supply Company.

Disconnection drive

The Bangalore Electricity Supply Company (BESCOM) will launch a mass disconnection drive from June 27 to 29 in Yeshwanthpura slum, Vinayaka slum, Subedarpalya, Shariff Nagar, Gayathri slum and surrounding areas, Mathikere slum, A.K.Colony, Jayaram Colony and surrounding areas, according to a press release.

Interactive sessions

The Bangalore Association for Science Education is commencing the weekend interactive sessions in science for high school students on July 2 at Jawaharlal Nehru Planetarium. Scientific principles will be discussed through non-formal methods with emphasis on experiments and problem solving. For details, contact ph: 22266084/22203234.

Selection of members

The State Department of Women and Child Development has invited applications for selection of members to the Juvenile Justice Board and Child Welfare Committees as per the provisions of the Juvenile Justice (Care and Protection) Act, 2000. Juvenile Justice Board consists of two social workers of who one will be a woman. For details, contact Deputy Director/Assistant Director of the Department.

Rehabilitation complex

The Karnataka Parents' Association for Mentally Retarded Children has said that the Group Home Rehabilitation Complex for mentally retarded, developed at Arshinakunte near Nelamangala, will be functional from July 2. The present intake is limited to 10. Those parents who are unable to manage their wards can contact the association on ph. 26563267/26564608.

Free coaching
