dated June 28, 1956: New All-India Service

A new All-India Service for managing the growing number of industrial undertakings owned or managed by the State will be set up shortly. The scheme provides for a pool to be set up under the controlling authority of the Home Ministry. For this purpose the Home Ministry will constitute an advisory board under the chairmanship of the Cabinet Secretary. The pool will provide senior officers, mainly for managerial posts in the various industrial undertakings whether owned by the Government or administered directly or through corporations.
