Mittal's success

The skill displayed by steel magnate Lakshmi Mittal in bringing round the shareholders of Arcelor reveals what Indians can achieve in the near future in all fields, including business. It should inspire young Indian businessmen. The successful takeover has a special message for the new economy industries such as IT, Telecom, and entertainment where our leaders still opt for an eternal secondary role.

Mr. Mittal has proved that when it comes to shrewd business acumen and resolve to overcome adversities in the highly competitive business world, Indians are second to none. We are proud that today an Indian is the world's biggest steelmaker. In this context, Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's recent invitation to Mr. Mittal to give a greater fillip to our steel industry is welcome.
