4 Dalits killed

PATNA: Four members of a Dalit family, including a woman and two girls, were killed by unidentified armed criminals in Srinagar village under Silao police station of Nalanda district on Monday night. Rajan Manjhi, his mother and two daughters were killed allegedly over a land dispute. While the police have filed an FIR against eight persons, no arrests have been made. The area continues to remain tense. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, who hails from Nalanda, has announced a compensation of Rs. 1 lakh to the family of the deceased.
