Rupee stages mild rally
MUMBAI:
The rupee staged a mild relief rally on Tuesday on light exporter dollar sales amid a retreating dollar overseas in cautious two-way trade at the interbank foreign exchange market even as the outlook remains uncertain due to rising crude oil prices and a slowdown in FII inflows. Closing at Rs. 46.35/36 a dollar, a four paise recovery from overnight 22-month closing lows of Rs. 46.39/40, the rupee traded within a range of Rs. 46.28 and Rs. 46.38 on alternate bouts of dollar sales and bids in mostly lethargic dealings. The rupee opened on a firm note at Rs. 46.34/37. PTI
