The good, bad and the ugly

COLOGNE: Switzerland set a dubious record by becoming the first team not to score even once in a World Cup penalty shoot-out, as three of the players missed their penalties against Ukraine.

Defender Ludovic Magnin, when asked what improvements were needed, said with a smile: ``We have to work on our penalty kicks.''

Switzerland striker Marco Streller, who also missed a penalty, said: ``It hurt badly, to be forced out of the tournament without conceding a goal. I felt quite sure of myself before the penalty shoot-out.''— AP
