Nizamabad
Staff Reporter
NIZAMABAD: South Central Railway General Manager D.N. Mathur has said the Mudked-Adilabad broad gauge line is nearing completion and in all likelihood it may be commissioned in the current year. Once this line is opened more additional trains could be introduced in Secunderabad-Nanded route via Nizamabad. Giving details at a press conference here on Wednesday, he said the Nizamabad railway station which is spick and span now would have more facilities in the months to come. It would have hamali rest room, extended plot farms for 200 metres and rain water harvesting tank. Speed restriction visual board and coach indication board are also on the anvil. Appreciating the sanitation maintenance at the station, he said the railway hospital looked serene with greenery lacing it. Development was an ongoing process and more would certainly be added to the station here and at Basar, the holy place on river Godavari. Mr. Mathur said Railway Ministry in its current budget had already released an amount of Rs.40 crores for the purpose and the SCR requested for another Rs.25 crores. By November the additional amount would be released.
