Tendulkar out of top 20

Dubai: Sachin Tendulkar slipped out of the top 20 for the first time since 1992, while Rahul Dravid retained second place in the LG ICC Test Rankings for batsmen released on Wednesday.

Tendulkar, who is now playing in England to test himself in match conditions after undergoing surgery on his right shoulder, has averaged just 28 in his last 10 Tests compared with an overall average of 55.39.

Ricky Ponting remained at the top of the table, while Virender Sehwag came down one spot to 13th and V.V.S. Laxman moved up two places to 27th after scores of 100 and 63 in the drawn third Test in St. Kitts.

Among the bowlers, India has two players in the top 20 with Anil Kumble slipping down one spot to eighth and Irfan Pathan, who missed the third Test, 13th.

Sri Lanka's Muttiah Muralitharan leads the pack ahead of Makhaya Ntini of South Africa and the Australian duo of Shane Warne and Glenn McGrath.

The all-rounders' table is headed by Jacques Kallis of South Africa, clear of England's Andrew Flintoff. Irfan Pathan is fifth.
