MALAPPURAM: After Aslam Kunhi Mohammed, who topped this year's State engineering entrance examination, yet another student from Malappuram has brought laurels to the district. Anand N. from Edakkara has secured the first rank in the entrance test for the MBBS course in the prestigious Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC), Pune. Anand had secured 53rd rank in the Kerala medical and engineering entrance test. He stood 82nd in the all-India CBSE common entrance test. Anand's father Naveenchandran M. is a doctor with the State health services and mother Jalaja K. a doctor at Nirmala Nursing Home, Edakkara. His elder brother Chandrakanth, who also did his MBBS at AFMC, is a house surgeon at Army Hospital, Secunderabad. Anand had his schooling at Good Hope School, Nilambur, and Amrita Vidyalaya, Kodungalloor.
