The Deputy Commander Swaroopa belongs to Panjugal village of Kalwakurthy mandal and her husband is also a Maoist and member of the Kalwakurthy dalam.

She joined the movement in 2002, leaving her four year-old daughter with her parents.

Meanwhile, parents of the deceased Maoists were waiting eagerly since morning for the bodies. Inspector General (Greyhounds) K. Durgaprasad, Police Superintendent of Mahbubnagar, K. Srinivas Reddy, group commander Atul Singh, Officer on Special Duty Rajesh Kumar visited the village and made arrangements for shifting of the bodies.

The bodies were transported in tractors after `panchanama' by Lingala Mandal Revenue Officer Balaswamy.

Members of the Civil Liberties Committee also reached Achampet by Wednesday afternoon. Mr. Rajesh Kumar said it was with great difficulty that the bodies could be shifted because of the inaccessible nature of the encounter spot that was 15 km away from Medimalakala village.
