Visakhapatnam retains trophy

VISAKHAPATNAM: Visakhapatnam retained the G. Kannam Raju trophy by topping the round-robin league in the ACA North Zone inter-district under-19 cricket tournament here.

The scores: Visakhapatnam 282 for four declared in 76.3 overs (Mukhram Ali 83, Prince Susan 80, Trinadh 63 not out) and 37 for one declared in 3.1 overs bt East Godavari 83 in 26.3 overs (P.E.V.K. Reddy five for 18) and 75 in 21.2 overs (K. Bharat Reddy four for 10).

Vizianagaram 31 and 49 in 23.1 overs (Laxmana Rao four for eight, Simhachalam four for 19) lost to Srikakulam 143 for eight declared (Sriharsha four for 32).

North Zone u-19 team

M.S. Deepak Kumar will lead North Zone in the ACA inter-zone under-19 tournament, according to the North Zone secretary P.R. Narayanaswami.
