Girl found dead

Staff Correspondent

MANGALORE: Akshatha (18), who went missing from her house at Salmara in Chikkamudnuru village in Puttur Town Police station limits on Saturday, was found dead in a bush near Taregudde on Tuesday.

Based on a complaint from Akshatha's mother, Yashodha, Puttur Town Police have registered a case of murder against Mohammad Sattar, Akshata's neighbour, in this connection.

B. Dayananda, Superintendent of Police, said it was apparently a case of love affair that went sour.

Akshata's parents were opposed to the relationship, he said.

Akshatha left home on Saturday and Ms. Yashoda lodged a missing person complaint with the police, Mr. Dayananda said.
