Moscow: Foreign Ministers from the world's most industrialised democracies on Thursday said they expected Iran to reply by next week to international proposals on suspending its controversial nuclear enrichment programme. In a joint statement, G-8 Foreign Ministers, including U.S. Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, following Moscow talks on a wide range of global issues, said they were disappointed that Iran had given no official reaction to the proposals. ``We are disappointed in the absence of any official Iranian response to this positive proposal,'' they said, adding they expected to ``hear a clear and substantive Iranian response to these proposals'' during Teheran's nuclear negotiator Ali Larijani's meeting with E.U.'s foreign policy chief Javier Solana on July 5. The proposals handed over to Iran on June 6 cover the nuclear programme, trade and economic ties with Teheran, and security guarantees. The G-8 comprises Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, Russia and the United States. PTI
