Letters to the Editor
The editorial "Football's golden oldies" (June 29) rightly points to the greatness of soccer heroes who are on the verge of retirement. The soccer crazy fans the world over will miss the joy of watching them in the next World Cup. Let us hope new stars emerge with mesmerising skills of their illustrious predecessors to delight us.

The editorial was well deserved. The running and hoodwinking skill of golden feet Ronaldo, who became the top scorer in World Cup finals when he sidestepped goalkeeper Richard Kingston to score against Ghana was a feast for the eyes.
The younger generation must learn from the sincerity, dedication, perseverance and hard work of the oldies.
