Ponnappa, Ramkumar hit centuries

CHENNAI: Shyam Ponnappa (106 not out) starred in Vijaya Bank's (Bangalore) 32-run win over SBT (Thiruvananthapuram) in the super league phase of the All-India IOB-YSCA Trophy cricket tournament here on Thursday.

In another match, R. Ramkumar's 105 helped Chemplast Sanmar `B' beat IOB by 91 runs.

The scores:

YSCA `B' 136 for eight in 30 overs (Ramprakash 45) lost to Kochi Refineries 137 for two in 23.4 overs (Abhishek Hegde 71 not out, K.J. Rakesh 42). Kochi Refineries: 5 pts; YSCA `B': minus one.

Chemplast Sanmar `B' 252 for six in 30 overs (R. Ramkumar 105, Subramania Siva 57) bt IOB 161 for nine in 30 overs. Chemplast Sanmar `B': 5; IOB: minus one.

Vijaya Bank (Bangalore) 217 for four in 30 overs (B.A. Vinay 76, Shyam Ponnappa 106 not out) bt SBT (Thiruvananthapuram) 185 in 27.2 overs (R. Vinay Kumar four for 27). Vijaya Bank: 4; SBT: 0.

Indian Bank 128 for seven in 30 overs (Sreekumar Nair four for 16) lost to India Cements `A' 129 for seven in 30 overs. India Cements `A': 4; IB: 0.
