BCCI to withhold payment to CAB
New Delhi: The ongoing tussle between the BCCI and Jagmoman Dalmiya took a new turn with the country's cricket governing body on Thursday deciding to withhold all subsidies and payments to the Cricket Association of Bengal (CAB).
The BCCI has taken this drastic action for CAB's alleged failure to furnish details of the amount transferred to the State association's account from a Kolkata bank by its president Dalmiya from 1995 to 2006.
In a letter to CAB, BCCI secretary Niranjan Shah said that the Board decided to debit to the State association the Rs. 40 crores as Dalmiya had failed to furnish details of Account No. 1223 with the Bhawanipur branch of Indian Overseas Bank, Kolkata, along with vouchers, bills, ledgers and audited balance-sheets despite a notice being served to him on April 15.
