NEW DELHI: P. Hari Krishna drew with Alexander Areshchenko to finish last in the 12-player Aerosvit 2006 International Grandmasters chess tournament in Foros, Ukraine, on Wednesday. Following the 45-move deadlock in Two Knights Defence, Hari ended up with four points from 11 rounds. Russia's Sergei Rublevsky took the title with 7.5 points after drawing with countryman Alexander Grischuk. Runner-up Vassily Ivanchuk (seven points) tried in vain to translate his superiority into victory against Alexei Shirov but had to settle for a 80-move draw. The results (11th round): Vassily Ivanchuk (Ukr) drew with Alexei Shirov (Esp); Shakhiryar Mamedyarov (Aze) drew with Vioral Bologan (Mol); Alexander Grischuk (Rus) drew with Sergei Rublevsky (Rus); Alexander Areshchenko (Ukr) drew with P. Hari Krishna (Ind); Ruslan Ponomariov (Ukr) drew with Liviy-Dieter Nisipeanu (Rom); Sergey Karjakin (Ukr) bt Andrei Volokitin (Ukr). Standings: 1. Rublevsky (7.5); 2. Ivanchuk (7); 3. Bologan (6.5); 4-6. Mamedyarov, Shirov and Grischuk (6 each); 7-8. Areshchenko and Nisipeanu (5 each); 9-10. Ponomariov and Karjakin (4.5 each); 11-12. Volokitin and Hari (4 each).
