Tata official meets Maran

CHENNAI:
A senior Tata executive R.K. Krishna Kumar met Union Information Technology Minister Dayanidhi Maran and discussed prospects of Tata ventures in Tamil Nadu.
This is a follow up to the meeting between Mr.Maran and Tata Group chairman Ratan Tata on Wednesday. The Tata Group had indicated that it would conduct a survey in Tamil Nadu to explore investment avenues.
After the meeting, Mr. Krishna Kumar said the State was keen that Tata Group begin power projects. He had assured the Minister that the group would examine after conducting studies. He had also spoken to the Minister on the possibility of taking up housing projects in the State. According to officials, Tata Housing & Development Corporation, a Tata Group company, has plans to construct townships just outside metros, including Chennai.
