Bhavana, Varun triumph
HYDERABAD: V. Bhavana of Vijayawada and V. Chaitanya Sharma, twin sisters and students of Brilliant Grammar School, settled for the first and second places in the girls' section of the Sri International School AP State sub-junior chess championship here on Thursday. In the boys' section, V. Varun of Sadhu Vasvani High School emerged winner with 5.5 points out of a possible six.
The top four players in each section have qualified to represent the State in next month's Nationals in Visakhapatnam.
Final placings: Boys': 1. V. Varun (5.5 points); 2. L. Mahendra Venkat (5); 3. K.S. Anand Reddy (5); 4. J.V. Sai Kiran (5).
Girls': 1. V. Bhavana (4.5); 2. V. Chaitanya Sharma (4); 3. S. Chandana Priya Reddy (4); 4. Tejaswini Reddy (4).
