Hyderabad: World's leading women squash players are expected to take part in the Qatar Airways Challenge, one of the major events on the WISPA (Women's International Squash Players Association) World Tour to be held in Hyderabad from July 4 to 9, according to information released here on Thursday. After two years in Doha, the tournament will move to India for the first time. The tournament is the third biggest WISPA event on the women's international circuit with total prize money of $80,000. The early rounds will be played at the Secunderabad Club courts, while the final rounds will be played in an all-glass outdoor court specially erected in front of the Falaknuma Palace in Hyderabad. About 40 players from 16 countries are likely to compete. They include defending champion and former world No.1, world No.4 Rachael Grinham of Australia, world No.1, Vanessa Atkinson from Holland, and Malaysia's Nicol David, currently ranked second in the world. Also in the fray will be Rachael Grinham's sister, Natalie, the world No.3 and triple gold medallist at the Commonwealth Games in Melbourne earlier this year.
