Pragathi Grameena Bank employees continue stir

Staff Correspondent

BELLARY: The indefinite dharna being staged jointly by the Pragathi Grameena Bank Officers' and Workers' Organisations in front of the head office here to press against their long-pending demands entered the fourth day on Thursday.

The bank employees have been demanding among other things compassionate appointments, direct recruitment, internal promotions to all posts, payment of dues to messengers from the date of their appointment, implementation of the bipartite settlement and other benefits, regularising the services of daily wage workers.

Bharatiya Mazdoor Sangh regional secretary Suryanarayan Rao, while extending his support to the dharna, said it was unfortunate that the management had not been responding to the demands put forth by the organisations and the sangh would condemn it. He urged the management to take steps to settle the issues through negotiations.
