Pornographic CDs seized in Hassan

HASSAN: The district police raided eight compact disc (CD) shops in Hassan on Wednesday night and seized more than 180 pornographic CDs. They have arrested eight persons in connection with the incident.

Superintendent of Police Panduranga H. Rane told presspersons on Thursday that on getting information about CD shops supplying pornographic CDs, eight teams raided the shops simultaneously and seized CDs.

Case solved

Mr. Rane said that the police succeeded in solving eight-month-old murder case in Channarayapatna.

The police found a mutilated body in last October and they identified the body as that of Lokesh (25) of Kundur village.

During investigation, it was found that Ramesh from the same village allegedly murdered Lokesh.

The police arrested Ramesh on Wednesday night.

To a question on the progress of inquiry with regard to the murder of car drivers of Hassan, the double murder on Salagame road recently and dacoity in two petrol outlets two years ago, he regretted that the police could not make any breakthrough.
