DEHRA DUN: A number of parents of students of Central School at Clementown Cantonment here have threatened self-immolation if orders for demolition of the school building are not withdrawn immediately. Holding a demonstration outside the Principal's office, the parents wanted to know how the authorities could demolish the school building without making alternative arrangements for the education of the 1,400-odd children studying there. The officials had been saying that a new school building would be constructed on a nearby plot but the seniors now say that an Army School and not a Central School would be constructed there, the parents said, adding that they would now petition the High Court, the Union Defence Minister and the Army Chief for justice. The authorities, however, maintained that the students would be shifted to another Central School as this building had been declared unsafe.
