PATNA: The Gopalganj district authorities on Thursday ordered the externment and arrest of RJD MP Annirudh Prasad alias Sadhu Yadav, brother-in-law of Railway Minister Lalu Prasad, for allegedly intimidating one of the candidates in the fray for the post of pramukh of the Phulwaria block. Mr. Yadav's bodyguards allegedly assaulted Dinesh Sah when he refused to withdraw from the fray in favour of Kunti Devi, wife of Gulab Rai, elder brother of the Railway Minister. The election has since been postponed and the authorities have withdrawn the police personnel attached with Mr. Yadav. They have decided to take action against them as well. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar said that action would be taken in accordance with the law. Meanwhile, the Saran district authorities have debarred the presence of all MPs and legislators hailing from the district. Incidentally, the Railway Minister happens to be an MP from the district and is currently away on a foreign trip. On Wednesday, officials in Darbhanga had debarred the entry of the Union Minister of State for Human Resources Development M.A.A. Fatmi in view of Friday's election for the post of chairman and vice-chairman of the Zila Parishad.
